Once upon a time...
… there was a little boy who thought that puzzles was just boring. Strange the mother thought, I believed that all children loved puzzles. But one day the boy came upon a large and exciting floor puzzle. Curiously he put piece after piece together to see the train, the helicopter and the fire-engine come into being. Now the little boy wanted to do puzzles day and night.
This is the background to BIRK puzzles. The idea has been to produce and sell such puzzles and other fun products that stimulates the imagination. The puzzles from BIRK are made with care to be able to function as a spring-board into the world of fantasy, so that kids and adults can gather around the puzzles, play together and talk about the puzzles...

Big and wonderful puzzles

The puzzles are large, ca 42 x 60 cm, with proper and easy-to-handle pieces in sturdy cardboard, 27 pieces per puzzle. They are made for kids from 3 years and up and also a suitable present for grown-up "kids" who loves fairy-tales and beatiful pictures.

The pictures and the box has been made in close cooperation with the artist Susanne Hassellöf. The puzzles are made in Sweden and, as far as possible, produced in an environmental friendly manner. The nice and practical box is made of unbleached recycled cardboard with a string as a handle.

Stimulates the fantasy

There are three puzzles with three different motives: "The Princess and The Dragon" and "The Knight" are both classical fairy-pictures; "The Fire-engine" puts out a fire in the little village. The puzzles are very stimulating to the imagination and stands out from the puzzles you usually find.

In a nursery in Falun, Sweden, "The Princess and The Dragon" is used at the morning-meeting. – The puzzle is the key to our fantasy-world, says the nursery school teacher Lena Mellström. Together with the kids we have made up a story about the picture; we have dramatized the story, made princess-crowns and -clothes, etc.

Flying Dragons

Besides the puzzles I have also made lively flying dragons as mobiles and hangers in wood, in different colours. The dragons are made of birchwood and naturally made in Sweden.
